Families often come to us after too many unanswered calls, missed visits or a caregiver who just isn't the right fit. In Maine, you have the right to choose your provider, including when care is paid for by MaineCare.
We'll listen to what hasn't been working, and coordinate with your care coordinator to make the transition as smooth as possible.

Why we started Majesty
Would we feel good about this care if it were our own family?
During COVID, a senior who had lost her home came to live with our family. We cared for her in our home until she passed away. It made something clear: there are vulnerable people all over Maine who need help, and families who need someone they can trust. After nearly ten years in long-term care, Paul started Majesty with that one question as the test for every decision.
Caregivers who are valued
Caregivers are the heart of our team. They do the hard work, handle the emotional moments, and grieve when they lose a client they've cared for day after day. We treat them with the same respect and kindness we expect them to show the people they care for.
Clear communication
We're not perfect, but we pick up the phone. Caregivers and families shouldn't wait days for a call back or for the information they need. We believe almost every hard situation can be worked out with good, honest communication.
Independence first
We step in where help is needed and encourage your loved one to keep doing what they can, because staying active is how people stay independent longer.
Every home is different, so we look beyond who’s available.
- Your daily rhythm. If your mom is up at 5 a.m., we look for a caregiver who’s at their best early too.
- Physical needs. Clients who need help with transfers are matched with caregivers who can do it safely.
- The home itself. Pets and allergies, smoking or smoke-free: we match caregivers to the home, not just the schedule.
- Personality. We listen to what matters to you and to our caregivers.
When care is needed right away, we’ll start with the best caregiver available and keep working toward the best long-term fit.

Paul Reid
Paul founded Majesty Home Care in 2022 after nearly a decade in long-term care. As Director of Learning & Development at Signature HealthCARE, he trained and coached healthcare leaders. While leading the company's Administrator-in-Training program, he saw firsthand how much well-supported caregivers and clear communication contribute to better care, and to happier caregivers. He also completed State Registered Nurse Aide training, so he understands the work from the caregiver's side too.
A Certified Professional Co-Active Coach, Paul believes great care starts with listening: to clients, to their families and to the caregivers who make it all happen. Paul serves on the Board of Directors of the Maine Association of Personal Care Agencies (MAPCA), supporting the association’s work on behalf of personal care providers throughout Maine. Since 2016 he has served on the board of Central Aroostook Association, which supports Mainers with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including as president and now as treasurer. He is also a member of the University of Maine at Presque Isle Foundation board.

Services provided depend on your loved one's program and authorized plan of care. MaineCare and state programs cover hands-on personal care and household tasks. Companionship is available as a private-pay service.
Home care may cost less than you think
Many Mainers qualify for in-home help through MaineCare or state programs. We accept MaineCare Section 19 and Section 96, state-funded Section 63, and private pay, and we'll walk you through your options.
